Incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1975, the Australian Shepherd Club of Arizona, Inc. (ASC of AZ) is the first regional affiliate of the Australian Shepherd Club of America, Inc. (ASCA).

The objectives of the ASC of AZ are:

To encourage and promote the breeding of purebred Australian Shepherds in the state of Arizona, and to do all possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection;

To protect and advance the interests of Australian Shepherds as a purebred dog and to encourage sportsmanlike competition at dog shows, working, obedience and agility trials, tracking tests/trials and at any other event where Australian Shepherds participate; and

To encourage and promote sanctioned matches, specialty shows, working, obedience and agility trials, tracking tests/trials and any other such events which promote the Australian Shepherd under the rules of ASCA.

Today, the ASC of AZ remains one of ASCA's most active clubs, hosting as many as 15 sanctioned conformation and obedience shows, and up to 8 working trials per year.

The Club's calendar of events is published in its monthly newsletter, the Aussie Tales, along with the minutes of the club's membership meetings, rescue program updates, stories and articles about Aussies.
